about us

We are a dedicated group of volunteers that work tirelessly to rescue, rehabilitate and release all wildlife that are injured or orphaned on Magnetic Island, North Queensland.

Our team is passionate about wildlife conservation and is committed to making a difference in the lives of these animals.

We believe in providing a safe and nurturing environment for wildlife to thrive, and are dedicated to educating the community and visitors to the Island about the importance of wildlife preservation.

What we do

RESCUE

We have a 24hr/7 day a week Rescue Hotline that we operate for Magnetic Island.  Once a call is received, we contact one of our trained rescue volunteers to retrieve the injured or orphaned animal and take it for assessment.

REHABILITATE

Once the injured or orphaned wildlife has been assessed, it is then placed in the care of a trained species carer, to be looked after until it is suitable to be released back where it came from. We are extremely lucky to have Dr Ali Bee from the Magnetic Island Koala Hospital to help us with any vet issues along the way.

RELEASE

Once the wildlife in care is assessed as suitable for release, it is taken to an area near where it came from and released back into the wild.  A very rewarding part of the process.

what you can do to help us

Fundraising is an ongoing part of the work our volunteers do.  We are a not-for-profit organisation and rely completely on donations and fundraising activities to keep the organisation going.  Organising raffles and other events takes a large amount of our time, as we don't attract any ongoing government funding.

We are always looking for volunteers for our organisation, whether it's to become a carer or help as a relief carer, to administrative assistance or assistance with fundraising activities.
